Why I fight

I step through the ropes every time I have the opportunity.

And every time I am scared.

I do it to practice facing fear.  I practice being uncomfortable and surviving.  I practice protecting myself.  I practice fighting back, mentally and physically.  I practice digging deep to find more fight when I don't think I have any left. I practice getting up when I have been beaten.

We don't know when something incredibly difficult is going to happen to us emotionally or physically, so I am purposefully strengthening my body and fighting spirit so I will be ready.

Each time I face this fear and physical challenge and overcome it I become stronger.  It gives me the confidence that I can count on myself.  This is why I fight.
